The last few years, an e-cigarattes or usually we called vape become hype. I can easily found a vape’s house in my town.

One day, I asked to my husband, what’s the different between an original cigarattes and vape. He said, in general it’s same, but vape has some flavors, must charge and similliar like a pen.

Anyway, for those who didn’t know what is vape, e-cigarettes or e-vaporizers, are battery operated delivery systems that are used to inhale a liquid aerosol. How to use it? Well, same like an original cigarette.

How about the ingredients is it same with original? Yes, it’s contain nicotine too, but a few of them omit the nicotine. And FYI, e-liquid also comes in various flavors which is contain other chemicals too, and some of which are toxic.

There are lots of misconceptions out there about vaping.

Most women tend to hold the belief that vaping is a less risky habit, compared to smoking. That’s why it’s common to find women addicted to smoking turning to vape as a step to quitting.

Others think it’s safe to vape while pregnant, as compared to actual smoking. While these perceptions may have a little bit of truth to them, they are largely based on misinformation.

For women, especially pregnant ones, it is important to get the right information about vaping, to avoid hurting yourself, and your unborn baby.

  1.   Like smoking, it can harm your unborn baby

Vaping while pregnant has similar harmful effects to your baby as smoking. That’s because, when you vape, you are still taking in nicotine, which is harmful to the fetus.

Some of the negative side effects that you could be exposing your unborn baby to include: low birth weight and abnormalities that may affect the baby all through their life.

As such, once you become pregnant, you better find ways of quitting smoking altogether.

  1.   It is addictive

There is a common misconception that vaping is not addictive. This can’t be further from the truth.

When you vape, you are still inhaling nicotine, which is the addictive substance found in cigarettes. As such, before you even think of vaping as a hobby, be aware that you can get addicted.

You are better finding better hobbies that don’t have a risk of addiction.  As a woman, especially one of childbearing age, you would be better off keeping away from all nicotine products. The effects to you and your baby once you get pregnant are just not worth it.

  1.  It’s less harmful than smoking


Some women just can’t keep off smoking no matter how hard they try. For such women, vaping could be a healthier alternative to smoking.

It’s not a safe alternative, but it’s a lesser evil. That’s because vape is mainly made up of nicotine. On the other hand, cigarettes contain over 7000 chemicals, including tar.

This means that pound for pound, vaping is less harmful. You have a lower chance of cancer and other health conditions that are linked to smoking. As such, if you can’t quit your nicotine addiction, get rid of the cigarettes, and vape away.

  1.   Vaping can’t help you quit smoking

One of the biggest lies about vaping is that it can help you quit smoking.

Research shows that, it doesn’t do it. If anything people who vape tend to go back to smoking. They end up in a worse situation where they start vaping and smoking.

The reason for this is that, when you vape, you still take in nicotine. This means that you are still taking in the addictive component of cigarettes. The result is that the craving will get stronger over time, and you will eventually fall back to smoking, or start smoking if you weren’t a smoker before.
